KLIA SHOPPING "FESTIVALS OF MALAYSIA" CHRISTMAS TAKES FLIGHT AT KLIA
SEPANG, December 23, 2003 - There's nothing quite like hearing the melody of Christmas Classics belted out by a saxophonist...and passengers at the KL International Airport were greeted with not just music, but walk around santarina's giving out chocolate goodie bags. All this, in the spirit of Christmas and in conjunction with the KLIA Shopping Campaign themed, Festivals of Malaysia.
The scene at KL International Airport took on a Christmassy ambiance, after a month long celebration dedicated towards Hari Raya. Whereas Hari Raya saw the passengers learning the art of ketupat weaving, Fashion Shows and kurma give aways, Christmas brings yet another engaging activity for passengers with the "Gift from the Heart" charity drive.
In the spirit of Christmas giving, passengers are encouraged to purchase a 'Gift from the Heart' from any retail outlet at the airport and place the gift under the Christmas tree.
Gifts received will be placed under the two beautifully adorned Christmas trees that stand at approximately 10 feet, situated in the Main Terminal Building as well as the Satellite terminal. There has been an overwhelming response from passengers purchasing chocolate boxes as gifts.
The 'Gift from the Heart' charity drive will be on until 7th January, 2004. These gifts will be donated to three local orphanages, namely, Rumah Faith, Kajang, Rumah Anak Yatim, Banting and Trinity Children's Home, Selangor at a separate function after 7th January, 2004.
"This is an engaging charity drive for passengers traveling via KLIA. It gives them an opportunity to participate in lending a helping hand to those less fortunate. They are able to do something worthwhile while on transit," said Tuan Syed Ahmad Syed Salim, Head of KLIA Shopping steering committee. He added, "KLIA involves actively in various charity drives. We especially try to bring cheer to children during the holiday and festival seasons."
